New Product

Our new family of Auto Cal scales is now in production.  These scales have the following benefits unavailable on our previous scales or those of other manufacturers:

• Load cells can be replaced without the need for recalibration.
• The complete scale can be recalibrated without the need for expensive and heavy test weights.
• The accuracy of the scale can be verified at any time, without the need for test weights.
• The scale corrects for the variation of gravity around the world to give you accurate readings everywhere without recalibration.

 RoHS

The European Directive RoHS (Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment), is enforced throughout the European Community after July 1st , 2006. The directive aims to protect human health and the environment by restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in new equipment. To comply with the RoHS directive, the restricted use of Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr 6+), Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE) must be ensured.
 

Most of the products made by RL Scales come under Category 9, ”Monitoring and control instruments“ and are thus exempt from the RoHS directive. Some OEM products used in point of sale equipment must meet this directive, however, and we have obtained compliance in these products as a result.

Product identification

Part number for RoHS compliant parts have changed in some cases.  In others, the RoHS compliance is identified by the product serial number.  The product status is designated by the following pictures in this web site and that of Scaime:

	Indicates that the RoHS compliance is planned for this product, but the process is not complete.
	Indicates that we are able to produce RoHS compliant parts, but non-compliant parts remain in stock. You can request a declaration certificate indicating the first serial number of compliant parts.
	Indicate that all produced parts and all in-stock parts are RoHS compliant. You can request a declaration certificate indicating the first serial number of compliant parts.
